Menorca Beaches

Well Menorca is definitely a beach lovers paradise. Tiny little coves that are only accessible from the sea give way to huge horseshoe shaped bays like Cala Santa Galdana!

The more popular beaches are to be found on the more shelterd south of the island. Son Bou , a 20 minute drive from Mahon is a glorious stretch of soft sand and dunes backed by sheltering and shady pines .The Beach stretches for several kilometres with the
resorts of Santa Tomas and Son Bou itself centred on the beach.Great body boarding here whjen the sea is a bit choppy . Although relatively safe you do get good strong waves coming in here.Further along the coast you will come to Cala Santa Galdana which is a huge horseshoe shaped bay sculptured out of the native limestone. There are several hotels and villas built into the cliff face overlooking the Bay.The beach is regularly cleaned and is ideal for children the water here is crystal clear and the water stays at relatively the same depth for a long way out.Pedaloes and canoes can be hired to go round the headland and into the little rivulet that flows down through the ravine to th

e sea. Boats with day trippers often drop anchor in the bay.
